Freedom of information
In accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the NHSLA has produced a Publication Scheme, setting out what information we can make routinely available to the public. A publication scheme is not a list of actual documents, since this will change as new material is produced, but is rather a description of the types of information available. See also our Publications page for publications available via this website. Information which is regularly requested about the NHSLA is found in our NHSLA Factsheet series:
Factsheet 1: background information
Factsheet 2: financial information
Factsheet 3: claims information (England-wide)
Factsheet 4: information on individual trusts/PCTs' assessment levels
Factsheet 5: information on individual trusts/PCTs' claims experience in the latest financial year (see Publications page for earlier years)
Factsheet 6: information on FHSAU appeal unit statistics
The NHSLA will provide access on request to certain information it holds under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. This provision is subject to charges in accordance with government regulations. We suggest that requests made under FOI are submitted via foi@nhsla.com. You are entitled to request a review of any decision to withhold information under the FOI Act, and information on how to do so, and how to contact the Information Commissioner, can be found by clicking here.
In addition to our statutory obligations under the Freedom of Information Act, we seek to support NHS research and risk management initiatives which will be of benefit to patient care or the well-being of NHS staff. For more information click here.
You are free to use this information for your own use, including for non-commercial research purposes. The information may also be used for the purposes of news reporting. For any other type of re-use, please see the copyright notice on our website at www.nhsla.com/disclaimer.
