Professional Advisory Panel

The role of the PAP, as set out in our Framework document, is “to advise the Authority on the implications of the CNST, ELS or ex-RHA scheme for the interests of NHS professionals, both in respect of general policy and of certain individual claims”. In order to achieve this, the PAP seeks to:

  • ensure the formal and informal lines of communication between the Authority and health professionals are strengthened;
  • support the mechanisms for reducing clinical risk;
  • contribute to the assessment of the education, training and development requirements of NHS professionals;
  • assist the Authority in analysing information which will assist in predicting clinical risk, adverse events and litigation.

The Chair of the PAP is currently vacant. A list of PAP members is available in our Annual Report. Minutes of recent PAP meetings are also available once they have been approved at the following meeting.
