How many new cases are being reported under this scheme?

On average between five and ten cases per week are reported. Many of these are high value cases at pre-action disclosure stage.

If a single claim includes allegations of negligence starting before April 1995 (when the hospital was managed by the District Health Authority) and  further allegations after April 1995 (by which time the hospital was part of a trust), who should report and handle the claim?

The claim will need to be reported by both the relevant Strategic Health Authority and the trust. Separate claims will be registered based on relevant exposure. The NHSLA will co-ordinate the conduct of the claims.
